Model overview

Model snapshot

The NSG6DB870012AA is a current Bespoke gas range with a 6.0 cu ft oven. Its burners are gas, but its controls, clock and ignition spark depend on electricity, so many calls begin with a display that behaves oddly.

Messages from the controls

  • A key pressed for too long: C-d0.
  • Components that stop talking to each other: C-F0.
  • A touch IC problem that persists: C-F2.
  • A power connection that is not plugged in properly: bAd LinE.

A range that shows demo mode, covered on the tESt page, will not heat the oven, so rule it out early.

Everyday causes

Water from a wiped-over cooktop can run into the control edge. A power outage can leave the clock flashing and the burners without spark. A loose plug after the range was slid out for cleaning is also common in rentals.

What you can do

  1. Check that the plug is fully seated, if it is reachable without moving the range.
  2. Look at the breaker.
  3. Dry the control area and avoid spray cleaner there.
  4. Switch the breaker off for a short time and back on once.
  5. Write down which message shows and when.

Wi-Fi and the app

If the SmartThings app does not see the range, check your router and reconnect the range to the network. This does not influence how the burners or oven heat, and no remote repair is possible.

If the burners click but nothing lights, treat it as an ignition problem, as described in igniter keeps clicking.

After a power outage

When power returns, the range may flash its clock and ask for a setting. That is normal. What is not normal is a range that still refuses to respond after the clock is set, or one that shows the same message at every restart. In that case record the message and when it appeared. Short outages in the Bay Area happen during storms and utility work, so mention if the problem began at one of those times; it helps the technician sort a supply issue from a control fault.
