About this model

Model overview

Samsung WW25B6900AW/A2 is a washer in the WW6900B series with a 2.5 cu ft capacity, current. At that size it is the compact member of the washer lineup, the sort of unit people pick for a small San Francisco flat, a studio or a space with no room for a full-size pair.

Compact does not mean simple. A small drum spins hard and fast, and a small cabinet leaves very little room for hoses, vents and service access.

Small drum, big vibration

Compact washers go out of balance quickly: one wet jacket can be most of the load. If the cabinet shakes or walks, split the load into more even pieces and make sure all feet touch the floor. When it keeps happening with balanced loads, we look at the shock absorbers and the tub mounting. A stack of towels folded unevenly makes the drum behave very differently from a mixed load.

Space-driven problems

In a studio, the washer may sit under a counter, in a bathroom corner, or in a closet shared with a water heater. Hoses are short and tight, and a bend sharper than it should be reduces flow. Under-counter spots also trap moisture. We check hose routes, the drain connection height, and whether the cabinet can be moved forward for service.

Where to look first

  • Supply taps fully open and hoses unkinked.
  • Drain hose seated in the standpipe or sink trap without a tight loop.
  • Door or lid closed without fabric caught.
  • Detergent amount appropriate for a small drum.

If the washer shows a code, write it down. The unbalanced load page and the leak and water level page cover two that small machines trigger often.

When to stop using it

Switch it off if you see water at the base, smell hot plastic, or hear grinding. Close the taps, unplug if the plug is reachable, and keep the area dry. A burning smell means power off at the breaker. Do not run another cycle to see whether the problem repeats, since a small leak under a counter can spread to cabinets and the floor beneath before anyone notices.
