Samsung Washer dS, d5, FL, LO, dE, dC Error Code

VERIFIED

Error code dS, d5, FL, LO, dE, dC
Appliance Washer

The door codes

The door-error display comes in many forms: dS, d5, dL, FL, LO and L0; dE, dE1 and dE2; dC, dC1, 1 dC, 1dC1 and 1dC4. Each says the door is not detected as closed and locked. For dC, some models mean an unbalanced load instead, so consult your model’s user manual.

Checks

  1. Is the latch securely fixed?
  2. Has laundry or anything else been caught in the door?
  3. Is the door shut and secured the right way?
  4. If none of that corrects it, or the door or latch is damaged, request service.

Samsung’s notes

  • The code can show with no cycle running if Child Lock is enabled and the tub holds water. Unless the door gets closed or Child Lock is turned off inside 30 seconds, the tub is drained.
  • FlexWash washers display 1dC4 when the rubber button beside the upper washer’s latch is gone. That needs no service call; a replacement button cures it.

  • CL: the Child Lock drain message.

What this code means

Door error: the door is not detected as closed and locked; dC may be an unbalanced load, and 1dC4 on FlexWash is a missing rubber button.

Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
