Not a problem with the refrigerator
Seeing OF OF, O FF, OFF OFF or temperature bars scrolling across the display tells you Cooling Off mode is active. It also goes by the names Demo mode and Shop mode. No service is needed.
Getting out of Cooling Off mode
The precise procedure depends on the model, so the user manual is the final word. This is the most widespread method, for control panels on the outside front of the refrigerator on the left side.
Locate the two top buttons on the left of the panel. Some newer models additionally want the top button on the right.
Begin with the two left buttons alone, because models needing three buttons are less likely to be triggered by accident.
Touch both and keep them held for 5-8 seconds, until a chime plays. It sounds unlike the chime of one button.
Wait a moment and watch that the display stays out of the mode. Run through the steps again if it returns.
Other messages that are not faults
AP is Access Point mode for Wi-Fi setup, and 85C is a low-voltage notice that Samsung describes as harmless on Family Hub models.
Samsung refrigerator repair if the mode will not clear
If Cooling Off mode returns even after repeated attempts, phone (415) 969-6153 from San Francisco or the Bay Area, or open Samsung refrigerator repair. Give the model number and describe which buttons you pressed.
Model compatibility: Samsung reuses codes across series and model years, so OF OF / OFF OFF may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
