Samsung Dishwasher 9C1 (UC, 9E1) Error Code

VERIFIED

Error code 9C1 / UC / 9E1
Appliance Dishwasher

When the control reports bad voltage

The labels 9C1, UC and 9E1 all describe the same condition. The control has found abnormal or excessive voltage and switched to protection mode. Typical triggers are a power flicker, a surge or a tripped breaker. The unit turns on yet declines to wash.

Steps, in order

  1. Inspect what feeds the machine: the outlet or circuit, the power cord and the line connection.
  2. If a surge, flicker or trip happened before the code first appeared, cut power at the wall or breaker for at least a minute. Restore it and start a standard wash straight away. A code that clears points to a short-lived disturbance on the line.
  3. If it is still displayed, run the dishwasher from a good dedicated outlet or circuit. Leave out extension leads and multi-adapters, and keep a heater or tumble dryer off the same outlet.

When the code disappears on the clean circuit, the earlier supply was the cause rather than the dishwasher.

Codes that resemble 9C1

  • 9C2: it powers on, then will not wash after power dips
  • 9E: low water, easily mistaken for 9E1
  • AC6: a lockout that blocks starting
