Reading E-83
A flashing E-83 (or E83) on a current Samsung microwave reports a communication error. Samsung includes it in the code list for the current generation of microwaves.
Fix attempt number one
Disconnect power at the plug or by switching off the breaker. A wet unit should dry before you go on; a dry one waits 60 seconds. Restore power and look at the display.
If the code remains, ask for service. Taking the cover off is not an owner job.
A microwave that still reads E-83 after the reset can be raised by phone: (415) 969-6153. We cover San Francisco and the Bay Area; see Samsung microwave repair and keep the model number nearby.
Model compatibility: Samsung reuses codes across series and model years, so E-83 (E83) may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.

Important safety warning. Do not attempt repairs involving electrical components, gas, water lines, refrigerant or sealed systems. Unplug the appliance if it is safe to reach the outlet, and leave internal diagnostics to a qualified technician.
