These answers cover booking, the visit, estimates, model numbers, codes and the practical questions Bay Area owners ask most. If your question is not here, send it with your request on the contact page.
Booking and visits
Use the form on the contact page and include the appliance, the model number, any code and what you noticed. We reply with questions or a visit window. Requests are handled Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The technician first looks at the installation and the symptom, then tests the suspected fault. A written estimate follows, naming the problem and the proposed repair. The repair begins only after you approve that estimate, and the appliance is tested before the technician leaves.
Yes. Diagnosis comes first and the estimate is written. Nothing is repaired without your approval, so you can read the estimate, ask questions and decide at your own pace. If a repair is not sensible, the estimate says that.
Models, codes and smart features
It depends on the appliance. On refrigerators it is usually on the door frame or an inside wall, on dishwashers along the edge of the door or tub, on dryers inside the door opening, and on ranges around the frame of the oven or a drawer front. The how to find a Samsung model number guide shows each location.
Write it down exactly as shown, including letters and any dashes, and note when it appears. Then look it up in the Samsung error codes section for your appliance type. Some codes disappear after one controlled power reset, others return, and that detail helps the diagnosis.
Not necessarily. Check that your router is online, that the app is signed in and that the appliance is within range, then try reconnecting from the app. These are owner checks only; a connection problem seldom explains a machine that does not heat, cool or drain. Our posts on SmartThings commands and Wi-Fi reconnection cover the details.
The model number usually tells you: for dryers, DVE is electric and DVG is gas, while ranges starting NSG are gas, NSI induction and NSY dual-fuel. The label also shows the fuel. The Samsung dryers and Samsung ranges and ovens guides explain more. If you smell gas, leave the home and call the gas utility or 911 from outside.
Installations and service area
Often it does. Access to the rear and the vent can be tight, and a fault in one unit can look like a fault in the other. Tell us how the pair is installed and which unit misbehaves, and mention any closet or door limits. See Samsung washer repair and Samsung dryer repair for what the technician checks.
We serve San Francisco and the Bay Area, including San Mateo, Santa Clara, Marin, Alameda, Contra Costa and Napa counties. The service locations page lists the hubs and neighborhoods. If your address is near an edge of the area, mention it in the request.
Yes. Landlords and property managers can book on behalf of a tenant. Include the unit number, a contact who can give access and whether the tenant will be home. The written estimate can be forwarded to the owner for approval.
Estimates and approvals
The estimate belongs to you. You can read it, ask questions, share it with a landlord or an owner, and say no. If you decline, the work does not go ahead and you keep the written findings. Symptoms sometimes point away from the true cause: a washer that will not spin can be a drain problem, and a refrigerator that runs warm can be a defrost fault, so the estimate describes what the diagnosis found rather than what was assumed at booking.
Before you write to us
Gather the model number, a photo of the label, the exact code if one is showing, and a short note about when the problem began and what you have already tried. Add building details such as stairs, an elevator, parking limits and a contact who can open the door. A request with those pieces lets the first reply be specific instead of a list of questions, and it shortens the path from the first message to a diagnosis at your address.
Safety
From the outside only: confirm the appliance has power, check the breaker or GFCI outlet, see that the gas valve is in its normal position, close the door fully and look at the latch and gasket, clean the filter, clear a vent or drain screen, open the water supply valve, write down the code and try one controlled power reset. Do not open panels, test live circuits or touch gas fittings.
Stop at once if you smell gas, see sparks, notice a burning smell or find water spreading toward electrics. For gas, leave the home and call the gas utility or 911 from outside without touching switches. For burning or sparks, switch the appliance off at the breaker. For symptom-based help, the common problems page sorts problems by appliance, and the repair blog goes deeper on single issues.
